Cable dominates this 2001 Marvel issue in a burst of golden energy, clutching a massive firearm in one hand while his techno-organic arm crackles and writhes with luminous tendrils — debris exploding outward around him in every direction. The cover pencils by Michael Ryan give the time-displaced soldier a raw, kinetic presence that suits "Hearts of Darkness" perfectly. At 90 issues in, this series was clearly swinging for the fences.
