Cable #88

Cable strides forward across a snow-dusted rooftop with grim determination, his techno-organic arm gleaming and the X-Men emblem emblazoned on his chest, while a red-armored, blue-skinned figure reels behind him — a striking image of hard-won confrontation rendered with impressive detail by cover penciler Ian Churchill. The small inset panel in the corner hints at even more mutant action waiting inside, adding to the sense that issue #88 carries real weight. Robert Weinberg's "Earth Abides" story arc continues here, and with Michael Ryan on interior art and the Hi-Fi Colour Design team bringing it all to life, this 2001 chapter of Cable's solo series is a satisfying read for fans of Marvel's most battle-hardened soldier.
