Cable goes toe-to-toe with the menacing Acidroid in this March 1999 issue, as a battered Cable clashes with the hulking mechanical threat amid a shower of sparks and debris — all while a ghostly, determined Rachel Summers looms large overhead. The cover by José Ladrönn and Juan Vlasco crackles with kinetic energy, promising the start of something big with the bold declaration that "The March to Armageddon Begins Here!" Joe Casey and Ladrönn clearly have ambitious plans for Cable's world, and this issue looks like the perfect entry point into the mayhem.
