Cable #53
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeCable and his companions are tumbling down an icy mountainside in this kinetic 1998 cover by José Ladrönn and Juan Vlasco — a red-and-gold armored figure, a dark-haired man in a teal suit, and a wild-haired warrior all caught mid-fall, while a massive, looming visage of Apocalypse watches from the frozen wall above. The tagline "To Breach the Lair of Apocalypse!" sets an appropriately high-stakes tone for part six of "The Hellfire Hunt," with a bearded, cybernetically enhanced figure visible at the edge of the chaos adding to the sense of a desperate assault gone sideways. Joe Casey and Ladrönn were clearly swinging for the fences on this arc, and the cover's swirling ice and raw energy make it one of the more striking entries in the run.
