The tenth volume of Laudec and Cauvin's beloved Belgian series finds young Cédric buried in culinary chaos — surrounded by a sprawling mess of ingredients including corn flakes, vinegar, salt, and what appears to be a very ambitious (and very messy) cake-in-progress. That expression of determined concentration on his face perfectly captures the lovable, hapless charm that has made this Dupuis series such a delight, and "Slagroomtaart" — cream cake — promises plenty of the warm, humorous domestic comedy fans have come to love.
