A cheerful slice of 1948 teen life, this DC issue finds "America's Favorite Teen-Ager" at the soda fountain, where two red-haired girls lean across the counter — one looking on curiously, the other beaming over an elaborate ice cream sundae being presented by a young soda jerk in a white uniform and cap. A gruff, wide-eyed older man in an apron stands nearby, clearly less than amused by whatever mischief is unfolding. At ten cents for a full 52-page magazine, Buzzy #19 captures the breezy, good-natured spirit of postwar teenage America in one perfectly charming scene.
