Buz Sawyer #2
Buz Sawyer #2 (2012, Fantagraphics) delivers a wild, globe-hopping adventure from the legendary Roy Crane, whose writing and art—joined by Hank Schlensker’s inks and Ed Granberry’s contributions—anchor this surreal, action-packed journey. After returning home and facing a tragic incident involving Nasinga and her pet tiger, Buz takes flight with International Airways, only to find himself caught in a Nazi plot in Greenland, then chasing leads in Salvaduras, and finally drawn into a bizarre confrontation in Africa where a surgeon performs shocking surgery on a living Adolf Hitler. The cover by Roy Crane perfectly captures the issue’s offbeat, high-stakes tone.
