About this Collection

This first volume of the Butch Cassidy series, titled 'Walnut Grave,' launches a Western saga from Vents d'Ouest. The story reimagines the legendary outlaw's early years, blending historical figures with fictional exploits in the American frontier.

In "Thunder Across the Border!", Butch Cassidy finds himself in the oddly strict town of Paradise, where even a simple ride into town lands him in trouble for breaking one rule after another. With a mountain of petty charges piling up, he’s sentenced to jail—only to face a new kind of lawman who enforces justice in a very personal way. Written and drawn by Tom Sutton, with inks by John Tartaglione and lettering by Jean Izzo, this 1971 Skywald comic features a cover by Dick Ayers and John Tartaglione.
