Ralph "Raketen" Rogan är Storbritanniens mest lovande skolgrabb i fridrott, men när hans pappa åker i fängelse för ett brott han inte begått hjälper Raketen honom att rymma. I norra England tar de sin tillflykt till en gammal järnvägsvagn, men ett gäng skinnknuttar Raketen kommit i bråk med sätter vagnen i rullning – och i den sitter pappa John fast med ena benet!
