Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight #37

Part two of "Last Gleaming" arrives with a cover that says everything about the stakes involved — a pale, red-eyed vampire looms menacingly over a wary Buffy, his clawed hand reaching toward her shoulder as she steels herself against the threat at her back. Jo Chen's painted cover work gives the scene an unsettling intimacy, the warm tones of Buffy's red dress contrasting sharply with the creature's ashen, predatory form. With Joss Whedon writing and Georges Jeanty on interior art, Season Eight's penultimate arc is clearly pushing Buffy into some of her most harrowing territory yet.
