This fifth issue of BOOM! Studios' 2019 reinvention of Joss Whedon's beloved Slayer mythos announces trouble with a striking cover by Marc Aspinall — a pale, yellow-eyed vampire looms large alongside a dark-haired vampiric woman, their threatening figures framing a tense scene below where Buffy stands defiantly beside a red-haired companion, while a prone figure lies surrounded by flickering candles. The composition beautifully captures the supernatural menace closing in around Sunnydale's chosen champion, with Jordie Bellaire, David López, and Raúl Angulo continuing their fresh take on the mythology inside.
