Jacob feels trapped in a small town until he meets up with vampires Sebastian and May. After a near death experience, Jacob is turned into a vampire himself. Unbeknownst to him, his best friend Alex is going through her own changes as she becomes a slayer. When Alex and May meet, Alex destroys May in a fit of rage for turning Jacob into a vampire. Jacob in turn nearly kills Alex himself. The final panels are of Jacob offering Alex a chance to become a vampire herself
