Buck Jones #4

Buck Jones investigates a mining operation where workers are abandoning their jobs under mysterious circumstances. He discovers that something in the mine is causing itching and driving the men away, which he suspects is a trick to close down the mine. Buck accepts money from Judge Larsen related to the situation and is directed to seek shelter at a houseboat on the river belonging to a woman named Ma Newton, where he encounters a young woman and becomes entangled in supernatural complications involving a river spirit or curse.
