In 1801, Lieutenant Adam Peril of the U.S. Navy undertakes a dangerous mission through the streets of Spanish New Orleans to combat river pirates and intrigue threatening the nation's fate. When Black Roger's men attack a vessel, Eric Falcon is swept overboard but survives, while Adam Peril faces the pirate Hugati in combat. Eric Falcon is rescued and returns to Lady Rosette, who expresses her affection for him, though Eric has already departed on his own course of action.
