An innocent man, Peters, faces murder charges on circumstantial evidence when a gun is found at a crime scene. Broncho Bill promises to solve the crime and clear Peters's name, discovering a tobacco bag that reveals clues about the real culprit. As Bill and Tornado investigate further, they uncover a "Wanted" poster for the bushwhacker and set a trap. The murderer, Beetle Bowers, is revealed to be alive and haunts the guilty conscience of Daggert, the man who had framed Peters, driving Daggert to madness and preventing an innocent man's execution.
