Boom! Studios' dark fairy-tale series reaches its third chapter with a cover that stops you cold: a woman's face fills the frame, mouth wrenched open in a silent scream as a cluster of tiny, gnome-like figures clamber at her lips, rendered in Germán García's vivid, unsettling linework with Matheus Lopes' eerie palette of greens, pinks, and golds. Needles and spools float at the edges, threading a sense of sinister craft through the whole image. Christopher Cantwell's "Chapter Three: Of Villainous, Cruel Gnomes" promises the kind of folk-horror unease this series has been building toward.
