Breath of Shadows #4

The fourth chapter of IDW's Breath of Shadows arrives with a cover that's impossible to look away from — Alex Cormack frames a hooded, silhouetted figure face-to-face with a massive, descending creature whose dreadlock-like tendrils reach downward in an unsettling near-kiss, all enclosed within a ring of fleshy, segmented limbs. Cormack's psychedelic color palette — blazing reds, electric greens, and a cool blue at the center — gives the whole composition the feeling of a fever dream pressed into ornate, art nouveau-adjacent borders. It's a striking piece of cover work that makes issue #4 feel like a genuine escalation of whatever dread this series has been building.
