Brass #3

Issue three of Image's Brass delivers a striking close-up of a battle-worn figure in a heavy tactical helmet, one piercing blue eye staring out from behind a cracked visor — and reflected in that visor is the silhouette of a dark, energy-wreathed figure surrounded by a burst of light. A winged-dragon emblem gleams on the helmet's side panel, and a smaller inset portrait of a sharp-featured woman anchors the upper corner. Richard Bennett's cover art — both penciled and inked by his hand — packs an impressive amount of atmosphere and detail into a single, almost uncomfortably intimate image that makes it easy to see why this 1997 series had readers eager for more.
