While Bill and Kay are looking at engagement rings, an argument over their prices escalates until the couple breaks up. Kay is miserable, but feels Bill should be the first to apologize. Then Kay listens to Jane and how she lost her boyfriend because she had been too stiff-necked to go to him and make up. Jane's problems seemed to light up Kay's own problems and Kay decides to go to Bill's house rather than wait for him to come to her.
