Diane's father owned the only clock shop in town and he let 'time' rule his life. Diane was determined not to let time dictate her life and was often late. Then while sailing with Pete at her insistence despite his warnings about the clouds, they encountered bad weather and the yacht overturned. While floating in the water waiting to be rescued, Pete asked her to marry him. When they were rescued by a helicopter, she was happy because she had discovered that Pete wasn't a clock-watcher, he was more interested in watching her.
