Diane and Susan had always double-dated until Susan met Peter. Diane didn't see much of Susan until she came around to arrange another blind date. Diane falls for Michael but soon finds she has been jilted when Michael leaves town and doesn't write. When Susan goes days without hearing from Peter, Diane assumes Susan has jilted her too. When a letter arrives from Peter, Diane snatches it away without reading it to keep her from being hurt again.
