Borderlands: Tannis & the Vault reaches its fifth issue with a cover that puts the archaeologist herself front and center — goggle-wearing, battle-worn, and urgently working a control panel while a group of armed figures looms in the doorway behind her. Artist Agustin Padilla and colorist Esther Sanz capture that signature Borderlands tension perfectly, bathing the scene in moody reds and greens that give the whole thing a tense, cinematic feel.
