When Bobby Benson and his friend Pudge Kelly set out on a week-long Scout hiking trip, they unknowingly walk into a nightmare on the trail. On the twenty-sixth day, strange phenomena occur—the wind stops, the sun dims, and an eerie fence appears, behind which Bobby encounters a giant bearded man named Paul who claims he has been lost in a sand storm for twenty-six days. Paul, a Yore Man, reveals he has been waiting for intelligent conversation and offers to keep Bobby for a spell, but Bobby manages to escape with Pudge and return safely from their terrifying ordeal.

When Bobby Benson and his pal Pudge Kelly head into the mountains for a week-long Scout camping trip, their wilderness getaway becomes a nightmare when escaped convicts stumble upon their camp and force them to guide a desperate journey south. Armed with nothing but his Scout skills and quick thinking, Bobby must outwit the hardened criminals while keeping himself and Pudge alive in the untamed landscape. It's survival, cunning, and Scout ingenuity against ruthless men with everything to lose.

Mosquito Expert!

Bobby BensonPaul Bunyan

Bobby Benson's companion discovers that his natural voice bears an uncanny resemblance to a mosquito's drone—a fact that Paul Bunyan had mentioned in passing. When a particularly troublesome mosquito threatens their camp, he devises an unconventional solution using his dictionary and his distinctive voice to lure the insect into a false sense of security. It's a clever bit of quick thinking that proves just how useful a man of words can be out on the range.
