In "Bob Colt and the Death Bound Train," Bob Colt escapes from a moving train engine where he has been bound by criminals, cutting his ankle ropes and freeing himself moments before the engine crashes. He awakens later in a mine controlled by a man named Cummings, who reveals he had previously employed Bob and is now using him as a prisoner along with others, planning to execute him with dynamite before Bob can escape. Bob encounters Miss Green and discovers that hired thugs from Low Ridge have kidnapped her to prevent her from testifying; the criminals force her to sing for them while they hold her captive. Bob fights back against his captors on the prairie, battling the gang of outlaws to rescue Miss Green and thwart their violent scheme.
