Bo is a dog who escapes from his owner Bert and becomes lost. A young boy finds Bo and takes him home, but Bo's attempt to rejoin his original owner leads to a series of misadventures involving a woman in a fur coat, an Arctic Circle traffic commissioner, and a chase with a red car. Eventually, the boy's family helps reunite Bo with Thornton, his rightful owner, and decides to keep the dog as part of their family.
