In "The Phantom Sub Takes to the Air!", Fred Harman’s dynamic art brings to life a thrilling adventure set against the backdrop of wartime intrigue, where a mysterious submarine makes an unexpected move into the skies. This 1941 issue, published by Novelty / Premium / Curtis at a 10-cent cover price, features a unique illustrated advertisement from the American Specialty Company offering a range of exciting prizes—like a Gene Autry guitar, a Daisy Red Ryder carbine, or a Spitfire & Airacobra model airplane set—for readers who sell their 40 Christmas packs of 96 full-color seals. The cover, by Bob Davis, captures the era’s playful spirit with bold, eye-catching design.
