Blue Beetle #3

From Charlton Comics' November 1964 run, this issue pits the blue-suited hero against a menacing villain whose enormous, sneering face dominates the cover — the sinister Mr. Thunderbolt, surrounded by crackling lightning bursts and taunting Blue Beetle with "You cannot escape me… you are doomed!" Blue Beetle himself is captured mid-leap above that looming visage, fists ready and costume rendered in striking blue and orange detail in cover art by Dick Giordano and Pat Masulli. With Joe Gill scripting and Bill Fraccio and Tony Tallarico handling interior art, this 12-cent issue offers a genuinely fun slice of mid-sixties superhero adventure.
