Part of DC Universe Rebirth, this 2017 issue of Blue Beetle makes quite a first impression — the armored Jaime Reyes lunges forward through a ring of leaping flames against a brick wall backdrop, his glowing yellow eyes and scarab-suit rendered with real energy by cover artist Scott Kolins. The bold tagline "Beware the Batman!" promises that the Dark Knight is somewhere in the mix, making this team-up chapter from writers Keith Giffen and J. M. DeMatteis one to pick up. Fajardo Jr.'s warm golds and fiery reds give the whole cover a punchy, kinetic heat that perfectly suits a story with two beetles and a bat in the title.
