Charlton's All New Blondie #199 brings the beloved Bumstead household to life in a wonderfully chaotic cover by Paul Fung Jr., where Dagwood finds himself sprawled on the floor as two bounding grey dogs race right over him — with Blondie looking on in wide-eyed alarm and exclaiming, "Beatin' Again — It's a Doggone Shame!!" A yellow cat perched safely on the red armchair seems entirely unbothered by the whole commotion. At just 20 cents in 1972, this is a cheerful slice of classic domestic comedy that fans of Chic Young's long-running characters will find hard to resist.
