Dagwood declares that he could write a better sitcom than the one on TV and does so with himself as the inept and bumbling star. All his friends, including Mr. Dithers as the sponsor, get to see and enjoy the show, except poor Dagwood himself - who misses it thanks to his (you guessed it) ineptness and bumbling.
