The issue contains "Tinker's Gamble," in which Wayne Hardy attempts to prove he can deliver gold through Devil's Canyon by disguising an empty chest as a shipment and using a tinker's wagon as a decoy, only to be outwitted when the outlaw gang discovers the ruse and the tinker reveals himself as a hired man working for mine boss Barton. It also features a story involving Firebrand, a horse that races and defeats a rival named El Diablo, with a ranger character thanking Firebrand's owner for the victory and acknowledging the superiority of a "Texas Ranger."
