An anthology featuring multiple Western tales: "Kit Carson" follows the frontiersman as he is assigned by Army Intelligence to track down a mysterious gun-runner supplying ammunition to Apache raiders and arming settlers against the government; pursuing leads across the Madrilla Trail, Carson confronts dangerous adversaries in his quest to stop the flow of illegal weapons. A second story features a criminal who flees pursuit by heading north to the mining camps after escaping a posse, then disguises himself as a respectable citizen to rob a bank in the town of Lorbee, only to have his plans intercepted by a stage driver named Carplin who catches wind of the scheme.
