Hiroaki Samura's *Blade of the Immortal* continues with this "Vigilance" volume, and the cover makes an immediate impression — a lone warrior clad in purple and gold is caught mid-combat, gripping a curved blade overhead while multiple spears and staffs converge on them from every angle. The ghostly red outline of a figure traced down the left side adds an eerie, almost supernatural tension to the composition. Samura's raw, kinetic linework is on full display here, making this 2014 Dark Horse release a compelling entry in one of manga's most viscerally crafted samurai sagas.
