Blacksad #3

This 2025 Dargaud Benelux edition of Blacksad — subtitled "Rode Ziel" — opens with a cover by Juanjo Guarnido that pulls you straight into its noir atmosphere: a mysterious woman dominates the foreground, her sunglasses reflecting the unmistakable image of Blacksad himself, the black cat detective, gun drawn and ready. Below her, a skeletal or gaunt figure wanders a moody, rain-soaked cityscape bathed in warm amber light, while ghostly fish drift through the shadows around him. Written by Juan Díaz Canales and Peter Ingelbrecht with Guarnido's rich, painterly art throughout, this is anthropomorphic noir firing on all cylinders.
