Blackhawk #6
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeA quiet devastation radiates from this September 1989 cover by Rick Burchett: Blackhawk stands in his distinctive blue uniform, back half-turned to the viewer, as a chain-and-padlock seals a chain-link fence bearing an "Out of Business" sign for Blackhawk Airways — while a uniformed figure walks away in the background. It's a remarkably restrained piece of visual storytelling, trading action-splash bravado for something more melancholy and human. Martin Pasko and Burchett were clearly willing to take this mature-readers series to emotionally grounded places, and "Bad Day at Muroc" promises to deliver on that tension in full.
