Dan Spiegle's cover for this April 1984 issue delivers an arresting image: a massive Nazi-uniformed skeleton looms over the globe, its bony hands clutching a swastika-emblazoned flag while red warplanes streak across the earth in trails of fire and smoke. The composition captures the Blackhawk series at its wartime best — aerial combat, high stakes, and a villain rendered on a literally world-threatening scale. Written by Mark Evanier with interior art also by Spiegle, issue #269 titled "Changes" looks to be a compelling chapter in this long-running aviation adventure.
