Doug Moench and Rick Burchett bring "Operation Skywing, Part III: The Wild Black Yonder" to a head in this 1990 DC series aimed at mature readers, and Burchett's clean, confident linework on the cover gives the whole thing a pulpy sci-fi energy that's hard to resist.
