Blackest Night: Wonder Woman #1
The Blackest Night crossover event reaches Wonder Woman in this harrowing February 2010 first issue of a three-part miniseries, written by Greg Rucka with interior art by Nicola Scott. Greg Horn's cover tells the whole grim story at a glance: a decayed, reanimated figure in a suit — bound with golden lasso rope — has its rotting hands clamped around Wonder Woman's face as she strains against the assault, her tiara and armor clearly visible beneath the undead attacker's crushing grip. It's an unsettling, viscerally effective image that sets the stakes for "The Living" and makes clear that Diana is up against something far darker than her usual rogues' gallery.
