Black Science #6
Two figures locked in desperate combat atop a massive piece of machinery — one in a white coat, the other a hooded, half-masked figure — make for a visually striking cover to this sixth issue of Rick Remender and Matteo Scalera's dimension-hopping series. The industrial chaos surrounding them, with enormous gears, glowing cracked domes, and lightning crackling across a turbulent sky, perfectly captures the anarchic energy that has made Black Science one of Image's most visually ambitious books of 2014. Dean White's rich, smoldering color palette ties the whole composition together into something genuinely hard to look away from.
