Black Fury #55
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeAgainst a full moon and a purple twilight sky, the magnificent black stallion Black Fury rears up defiantly as a gun-toting villain in a wide-brimmed hat takes aim, while a figure in the background shouts a warning — it's a tense western standoff rendered with real atmosphere by cover penciler Pat Masulli and inker Rocco "Rocke" Mastroserio. The cover text teases both danger for the beloved horse and a story called "The Victims," promising plenty of frontier drama inside. This 1965 Charlton entry, with interior work by writer Joe Gill and artist Mastroserio, is a fine snapshot of the earnest, adventurous spirit that made Black Fury a staple of the decade's western comics.
