Black Cat #18

Black Cat foils a greedy man named Spade who has murdered Mrs. Allenbrook and stolen her valuable stock certificates, which he hides in a wall. When Spade attempts to manipulate Miss Millstone into helping him retrieve the stock by proposing marriage and claiming poverty, Black Cat intervenes, exposes his crimes, and recovers the hidden securities. The issue also features an advertisement for "Flaphappy," a toy bird that flies using wing-flapping motion, available for 15¢ and a box top from Grape-Nuts cereal.
