Black Canary #6

This February 2016 issue of DC's Black Canary series delivers one of the run's most striking covers, with Annie Wu's cool two-tone palette casting Dinah Lance in punk-rock defiance — battered, lipstick smeared, and very much still standing. She strides forward gripping the hand of a small, wide-eyed child clutching a toy, the bold tagline "No Time to Cry!" making clear that whatever these two have just been through, there's no letting up. Lee Loughridge's deep crimson and blue color work gives the whole image a fierce, almost cinematic energy that feels right at home on a shelf alongside the best street-level superhero comics of 2016.
