The series goes out swinging with this December 1993 finale, its tagline "Going Out with a Bang!" splashed boldly across the bottom of Federico Cueva's high-energy cover. Black Canary crouches in the foreground, fists clenched and teeth bared, while a shirtless, silver-haired gunman looms behind her, dual weapons blazing amid bursts of fire and flying shell casings. Writer Sarah Byam and artist Leo Duranona bring the series to a close with a story titled "Canary's Grave" — a title that promises the tension these two cover figures are clearly already living.
