Bird Comics #1

This anthology issue contains two stories: the opening tale features cartoon characters involved in domestic chaos, with a large knife and glue creating slapstick mishaps. "Chip Chipmunk: Just Plain Nuts" by Thurston Harper depicts Chip the chipmunk being sent by an elderly woman to deliver nuts to his poor sick mother, only to encounter various misadventures including encounters with a garbage can, a cat, and wind that comically impede his journey home. Both stories incorporate patriotic messaging encouraging readers to purchase war savings stamps and bonds.
