The very first issue of DC's teen humor series arrives with a cover gag that perfectly captures late-1960s adolescent awkwardness: a bespectacled fellow in a groovy blue-striped shirt sits absorbed in an English-French dictionary on a park bench, oblivious to the couple beside him who are already kissing — his speech bubble cheerfully reporting that he can't find how to say "give me a little kiss" in French. Bob Oksner's pencils and inks render the trio in wonderfully vivid period fashion, from bold floral prints to go-go boots and love beads. A warm, playful launch for this DC series, and a genuinely fun snapshot of 1969 teen comic style.
