"Silver Saddle" by Donald Bayne Hobart follows young Johnny Long of the Circle K outfit as he discovers that bank robbers have stolen a valuable hand-carved silver saddle from the harness shop, and he works to recover it and stop the criminals. "Buck Ranger" depicts Buck Ranger and his detectives Chico Charlie confronting a murderous chieftain leading cattle rustlers on the plains, investigating the mysterious disappearance of Tombstone Tate and uncovering a plot involving Tate's daughter Betty.
