This March 1965 Charlton issue puts Billy the Kid in a tense standoff right on its cover, penciled and inked by Dick Giordano: a bandana-masked, blond cowboy crouches behind a doorframe while a sharp-dressed man in a red suit levels a smoking revolver at him, snarling "You can't fool me, Billy! I know it's you behind that mask!" The teaser "Billy Turned Outlaw?" and the featured story "Marshal with a Mask" promise a tale of hidden identities and frontier intrigue. It's a nicely composed cover with genuine dramatic pull — exactly the kind of two-fisted Western storytelling Charlton did well in the mid-1960s.
