Monty, Beaver's acquaintance, helps return Beaver's belongings and horse, revealing his connection to the outlaw gang; Monty explains he was attempting to prevent Beaver from becoming involved in crime. The story concludes with Beaver discovering that Monty was actually working to stop him from joining the Black Bandana's criminal enterprise.

When Hammerhead takes a nap under an apple tree, a falling apple bonks him on the head—and he decides to blame the law of gravity itself. This one-page gag strips away any sense of frontier logic as our confused hero tries to square an age-old natural law with a very personal problem.
Brainy Buster returns from town with an eyebrow-raising tale about an unusually large woman working at the local candy store, and he's got the measurements to prove it. When his friend presses him for details about her weight, Brainy delivers a punchline that proves his trip to town was less about accurate reporting and more about enjoying a good joke.
Windy Whopper decides to teach his friend Bushy about astronomy using a telescope, launching into explanations about the sun, stars, and the earth's rotation—but Bushy's hilariously literal misunderstandings and stubborn ignorance turn the whole lesson into a comedy of errors. As Windy's patience wears thinner with each ridiculous misinterpretation, the two keep trading quips and insults until things come to a head in classic slapstick fashion.
