Bill Boyd Western #23

Bill Boyd discovers a wounded man and learns of a plot involving a woman named Virginia and a stolen rifle. After finding the gun wedged in a rock, Boyd outsmarts a villain named Chuck by using his horse Midnight to ambush him. Boyd then becomes entangled in a larger scheme when Rock Hawley's men discover his hiding place, forcing him into a cave confrontation where he must help a man named Clayton hold off attackers while dealing with a murderer who refuses to let either of them escape alive.
