A separate backup story titled "Hammerhead" depicts a child character attending school and struggling with academic subjects including French, Italian, algebra, and other coursework. The main story follows an undercover agent who becomes entangled with criminals; after being tied up and escaping, he pursues the suspects on horseback, ultimately fleeing from the sheriff of Sawtooth Junction who recognizes and chases him.
